End of the Week and After-hours May 6 edition
Where we have a little fun…
A very short read to challenge your thinking, adjust your attitude and overcome resistance – Do the Work: Overcome Resistance and Get Out of Your Own Way. I was feeling a bit stuck and I pulled this thin volume off the bookshelf and it gave me a mental energy boost. Here’s an excerpt:
Rule of thumb: The more important a call or action is to our soul’s evolution, the more Resistance we will feel toward pursuing it.
The book is all about overcoming the resistance: shutting off the negative critic roaming your mind and chattering incessantly. It’s about choosing inspiration over resistance.
Are you a fan of Outlander? Now in its second season, English time traveler Claire Randall/Fraser, is now in France. Claire and Jamie Fraser have gone to France, a significant center for the Jacobites, and have access to Prince Charles Edward Stuart. Fans of the Diana Gabaldon book series already know that Season 2 of the Starz hit show draws from “Dragonfly in Amber,” the second book of the series…and to the series’ undying credit, they stay pretty close to the source material, even if the scenarios are a bit strange and unusual. Equal parts history, mystery, and romance, Outlander has become a wildly successful original series for STARZ network.
